This lovely scarf won 3rd place in the lace division at Michigan Fiber Fest in 2000. It was donated to a raffle at our family reunion. The lucky winner was Dan (I think) of California. I could be wrong though!
The above sweater was a Christmas gift for my brother, my first large project of handspun yarns. It contains wool from 5 different sheep breeds, as well as mohair from angora goats. This design is from Dale of Norway, the Thunder Bay Olympic Sweater. While it was a lot of fun to knit, it also had one of the single most fearful procedures I've ever done with knitting. I had to cut the knitting to make the zipper placket and armholes.. I think I waited 2 months to do this, I was terrified it would all come undone! Now I've had it and worn it for about a year, without anything coming undone... (whew!) This hat was custom-sized for a toddler, made for a friend's child. It was also made in baby blue, lovely in either color :) This is my favorite baby sweater so far, the color is a gorgeous lavander, with white pearl buttons. It has matching pants, the cable pattern is the outside seamline and cuffs on those, very cute! It was custom knit for a co-worker's granddaughter for a Christmas present. This lovely scarf was also made for the same person that ordered the lavender set :) Shown here right after being washed, it's stretched out to dry and show off the lace pattern to it's best. It was cleverly designed to be knit from each end and grafted together in the middle so both ends would match perfectly. A close up view is shown below. |
